Tile Cement Mortar
Tile cement mortar is used to attach tiles on concrete or block walls. It comprises cement, sand, limestone, Headcel HPMC and various additives, ready to be mixed with water before use.
Headcel HPMC plays an important role in improving water retention, workability, and sag resistance. Especially, Headcel HPMC helps to increase adhesion strength and open time.
● Normal Tile Cement
Normal tile cement is usually economic mortar which has lower content of cement and RDP (Redispersible polymer powder) than standard tile cement. RDP is optional additive (below 1% in dry mortar).
● Standard Tile Cement (C1)
Standard tile cement (C1) is cementitious adhesive as prescribed in EN12004. Adhesion Strength after drying of this tile cement should be more than 0.5N/mm2, and the dosage of Headcel is generally about 0.3 to 0.4% in dry mortar to reach this level.
● High Performance Tile Cement (C2)
High performance tile cement (C2) is a special cementitious adhesive with additional characteristics as prescribed in EN12004. Adhesion Strength of this tile cement should be more than 1.0N/mm2, and the dosage of Headcel is generally 0.4 to 0.6%. It is the highest level used in tile cement mortar.
Cement based plaster/render is the finishing material that can be applied to any interior or exterior walls. Headcel plays an vital role in improving various properties like sag resistance, workability, water retention, thickening effect and so on.
● Cement Plaster
Cement plaster is applied to interior or exterior walls such as block wall, concrete wall, ALC block wall etc. Either manually (hand plaster) or by spray machines. Headcel helps to control water demand and to improve workability and anti-sagging. Also, Headcel can reduce shrinkage or expansion of cement plaster during setting as it provides high water retention.
● Skim Coat
Skim coat is a very fine material that can be applied to any interior or exterior surface. The thickness of this coat is usually 1 to 3mm. The most important role of Headcel is to provide ease of work when the coat is applied manually. Besides, Headcel improves water retention, sag resistance, and crack resistance.
Monocapa, or Monocouche is a single-layer finishing coat, applicable in many colors. You can decorate exterior walls by several finishing methods such as stone, scratch, and print finishing. Monocapa is a popular construction method in Spain and Portugal, called Monocouche in France. Recently, Monocapa came into the spotlight in South America as well. Headcel helps to improve water retention , workability, and pumpability.
Tile grout is the joint material that is filling the gaps between tiles after they are put on walls or floor. Headcel plays a role in improving workability, and it helps to prevent crack formation and separation of the raw materials in mortar.
Self Leveling Compound
Cement based self-leveling compound (SLC) or floor screed is a thin top layer that is used to flatten floors as underlayment for tiles or carpets. SLC is composed of various fillers and additives in order to enhance "self-leveling" ability and other properties. The main function of Headcel is to control the consistency of the mortar. Additionally it helps to prevent sedimentation, crack formation, and shrinkage while improving adhesion strength at the same time. The dosage of Headcel for SLC is normally 0.05 to 0.1%.
Underwater concrete is the antiwashout material that can be applied to underwater construction structure. Headcel gives important performance to prevent segregation of raw material and to improve concrete solidity as well as antiwashoutability. It also helps to maintain the surface smooth.
Masonry mortar is composed of binders like cement or lime and some other aggregates. It is used for brick or block laying. Masonry mortar is becoming increasingly popular for its easy handling. After hardening, good adhesive and compressive strength are required for this application where Headcel plays. Also, Headcel enhances pot life and provides water retention as well as good workability. Additionally, it prevents bleeding or material-separation and crack formation.
To save cost of heating or cooling power, ERICS (EIFS) (External Thermal Insulation Composite System / Exterior Insulation Finish System) is used to apply thermal insulating material and reinforcing mesh to the exterior of buildings. Headcel is used in this application as a functional additive to improve adhesion strength, workability and pot life. Also it helps to delay drying out of the mortar surface.
